A new KILLER species discovered

The Meraxes giga was unveiled this month by scientists who made the discovery in Argentina. This giant predator had short arms like the Tyrannosaurus rex and its skull measured 4ft. I don't know about you but I am looking forward to hearing more information on this beast which apparently died out 20 million years before the big T.

WOW! Read about it more here in the report

Europe's largest EVER predator

OK, hands up this story was from June but boy we just had to include it in this month's newsletter. Discovered in the United Kingdom on the famous Isle of Wight, I say famous and if you know.....you know. The prehistoric bones belonged to a two-legged, crocodile-faced, predatory spinosaurid dinosaur and has been dubbed the "white rock spinosaurid"

What the FEATHER

In a study researchers set out to explain how dinosaurs lived through the Triassic extinction event, which killed many other animals. How did they you ask? Oops, well we gave that away in the headline so correct, it was feathers. The results of the study suggest that feathers played a major role in helping the dinosaurs survive by giving them the insulation they needed to endure freezing temperatures.

Smallest T. rex EVER

Ok so it's a tiny sculpture and not actually a real fossil, but still incredible art that is small enough to sit within the eye of a needle. Measuring 0.5mm this piece of "Art" is on display in the United Kingdom along with other fascinating T.rex art. Click here for the more details

4000 Dinosaur footprints DISCOVERED

Drone footage covering 9000 square meters taken in Northern China showed footprints from 4 species of dinosaurs, including one so far undiscovered, dating back 150 million years. Who wants to pop out there? Please take me with you..........please.

Bite this!

Rare Sauropod teeth have been discovered in Queensland, Australia. Scientists have found 14 teeth so far and have stated what food they think they ate (flowering plants, conifers, and gingko), what height they ate them at (1 - 10 meters), and how the teeth were worn out through eating.

Egg πŸ₯š a load of this!

What's better than an egg fossil? An egg within an egg fossil right!! Yes, that's right and so I had to include this one, even if it was just for the egg puns I could use.........so many. This fossil was found in India, originated from a titanosaurid dinosaur, and the condition is called "ovum-in-ovo" apparently.

What an egg-cellent story (ok last one sorry), read more here

Dino-mite Facts

I'm not going to lie, each time I say this I have the Dynamite song in my head......no not BTS but Taio Cruz, anyway, moving on quicker than an Allosaurus at full speed.........

πŸ¦– A Tyrannosaurus rex bite was twice as powerful as a Lions.....thankfully there is no way of trying out

πŸ¦– What's the most expensive fossil ever sold? It was Stan of course, the 40 Tyrannosaurus rex brought for a cool $31.8m. Sadly eBay didn't notify me of this one...…damn you eBay.
